Meet the Assessor

I complete assessments throughout Leicestershire and surrounding areas (East Midlands) and will travel to your home or school.
I am prepared to travel up to 20 miles for an assessment, anything above this distance would incur an additional charge.
I’m Jennifer Bostock, founder of Leap Dyslexia Services. I’m a fully qualified and registered dyslexia assessor with over 15 years’ experience as a primary school teacher, working across Key Stages 1 and 2. I now specialise in identifying and supporting children with literacy difficulties—including dyslexia and other related challenges.

A Specialist in Literacy Support
Throughout my teaching career, I developed a strong interest in how children learn to read and write—and why some find it harder than others. That curiosity led me to train as a specialist teacher and gain my Level 7 qualification in Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD), QTS, and a current Assessment Practising Certificate (APC).
I created Leap Dyslexia Services to provide clear, evidence-based support to children, parents, and schools—always with the whole child in mind.

My Approach
I take the time to really understand each child—not just their challenges with reading, spelling or writing, but also their strengths, confidence, and learning style. I believe every assessment should feel constructive, not clinical.
My reports are detailed yet accessible, and I provide follow-up guidance to help you make sense of the findings—whether that’s as a parent navigating next steps, or a teacher planning appropriate support in the classroom.
Outside the Classroom
When I’m not working, I enjoy being outdoors with my family—walking, exploring nature, and spending quality time together.
Supporting Families Across Leicestershire
I offer in-person assessments to children 16 and under across Leicestershire and surrounding areas. Whether you’re seeking answers, reassurance, or practical steps to support your child’s literacy, I’m here to help.
